My Motto

Never Be Average If You Can Be Savage.

A Brief History Of Zong

Born and Raised by a middle-class family in a small town in the North Part of China, a small northeastern boy migrated to a big city in the Southside due to family reason, having experienced culture difference, regional discrimination, the income gap between families, and many accommodation obstacles. Countless people would expect him to fail to adapt to the environment. No kindergarten education before primary school, he didn’t know the difference between second and third person present in third grade. Moreover, his delicate physique made matter worse. Before he was born, his parents received possible dystocia notice, then after several years, he received notice of critical illness during the SARS period. Yet he made it through. Through one two years of grinding, he got into one of best middle schools in the city. Besides, he started reading economics and business books when he was at third grade. Then he had the worst three years of his life, suffering imposter syndrome, inferiority to his peers in both wealth and grades, and difficulty to fit in. His class teacher told him he cannot get into his dream high school. Then he made it, shattering everybody’s doubt. After all the accumulations of readings, he started his first startup at the age of 17. However, another hurdle stood in his way. At the graduating year of high school, he was rejected by all the 30 universities he applied to. He was suggested by his parents to choose a college in Australia to become “in sync” with his peers. He firmly rejected. He knew the priority of dignity over stability. Under the pressure of their peers talking about his failure, he took a gap year. That’s when he started his tech career. And now he is in one of the top 20 universities in the world. He understood the fact that it is only through never-ending efforts and improvements that one can truly discover his talents and hold on tight to his fate.

And that young boy, is me.
